A true Jack-of-all-trades!

With 5116 as your partner in the process, you can enjoy reliable and safe signal conditioning in a wide range of applications. This transmitter is ideal in all types of industries with a need for signal conversion, isolation, scaling, amplification, surveillance, barriers, trip amplifiers, etc. The new and improved version of PRetrans 5116 offers even more possibilities than before.

Speedy process calibration…
The new version of the 5116 has been provided with a front push-button, allowing the user to enable a process calibration function via the configuration program PReset. By way of the push-button the user can perform either 0% and 100% process calibration or 0% process calibration – any time and anywhere. Access to the calibration function can be blocked by deactivation of the push-button.

…and other new advantages
PRetrans 5116 offers a greatly extended measurement range for voltage signals, viz. –2.5…2.5 V as opposed to the previous range of -150…150 mV. It is now also possible to lock the relay state and the analogue output signal, thus enabling a system test function. Furthermore, the module is able to indicate loop error on the 4…20 mA current input. The indication is given via the front LED, the relays and the analogue output signal.

Thousands of applications – in no time
5116 handles all common types of industrial measuring signals and can be configured to the desired function by only a few minutes’ PC programming. All configuration options are accessed through our user-friendly PReset software, and the module need not be opened for the setting of jumpers and DIP-switches. Naturally, the 5116 can also be delivered pre-configured according to customer requirements.

· Universal input: mA (active and passive), V, mVDC, RTD, TC, lin. R, potentiometer
· Universal supply: 21.6…253 VAC and 19.2…300 VDC irrespective of polarity
· Programmable output giving active mA and V signals
· Optional passive 2-wire output matching the input of a PLC
· 2-wire supply > 16.5 V (5116B also for Ex zone 0)
· Programmable sensor error surveillance – error indication via the analogue output, the relays and the LED
· Advanced relay settings: The two relays can, independently of one another, monitor e.g. flow, level, temperature, speed, etc. The relays can be set up as single trip amplifiers, window function, sensor error surveillance and much more
· Customer-defined linearisation and thus surveillance of processes with non-linear input signals

Creates safety in industrial processes
5116 has 3.75 kVAC galvanic isolation on all ports, the analogue input is over-current protected, the analogue output is current-limited, the supply is protected against reverse polarity and the transmitter has an extended EMC protection. These are just some of the many features making the 5116 a reliable and safe product.

Using the Ex version 5116B as a barrier, the user can safely receive and monitor signals from hazardous areas. 5116B is ATEX-approved for the reception of signals from gas zone 0, 1 or 2 and from dust zone 20, 21 or 22 and in addition to this the module feature approvals from FM (class I div. 2 and class I + II + III div. 1) and GOST Ex. Both 5116A and B comply with the EMC directive as well as with NAMUR NE21, NAMUR NE43 (sensor error) and the Low Voltage Directive (LVD). Furthermore, both 5116A and B feature GOST R, marine and UL 508 approvals

We offer the process industry a transmitter with many talents – and of course covered by our standard 5-year product guarantee and accompanied by thorough technical documentation, day-to-day delivery and competent technical support.
