Never before has it been easier to convert temperature and analog measurement signals to frequency signals

4222 is the latest addition to PR electronics’ PReasy series which can be configured in no time by way of the detachable display 4501. This converter accepts all commonly used industrial signal types and is ideally suited in any application where temperature signals and analog measurement signals need to be converted to a frequency signal.

Front display 4501 guides, visualizes and copies

When you are configuring the converter, there is no need to take out the manual. The detachable display 4501 comes with scrolling help texts in 7 freely selectable languages, thus guiding the user safely through all the configuration steps. All user options are selected by way of the front keys on the display and the user is completely independent of PCs, DIP switches and jumpers. Process data and unit status are shown in the display and the configuration can be copied quickly and easily from one 4222 to other 4222 modules.

An all-round converter

The input of the 4222 has been designed to accept V, mA, TC, RTD, potentiometer and linear resistance signals. The frequency output can be selected as NPN, PNP or TTL output and the span of the frequency signals is freely selectable in the range 0.001 Hz…25 kHz. Flexibility is the key word and this is also reflected in the universal supply which ranges from 21.6…253 VAC / 19.2…300 VDC irrespective of polarity.

Special functions

The display 4501 can also be used to calibrate the converter to suit all process input types. In addition to all this, it is, among many other things, also possible to perform process simulation and protect the chosen configuration with a password.

Safe signal conditioning

PReasy 4222 bears the mark of PR electronics’ strong focus on safety and efficiency. Our new converter features galvanic isolation of 2.3 kVAC between input, supply and frequency output. In case of a sensor error the user is alerted via the display and the frequency output. Furthermore, the 4222 performs advanced auto-diagnostics and indicate the function status in the display or by way of the front LED. PReasy 4222 complies with UL 508, NAMUR NE21 (Burst) AND the Low Voltage Directive (LVD).

In short: PReasy 4222 is the safe short cut from analog to digital signals.
